Urology
Apex Hospitals, Malviya Nagar is one of the best urology hospitals in Jaipur, offering comprehensive urological care from diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment to advanced robotic surgery and kidney transplantation. Led by Dr. Saurabh Jain — Additional Director, Urology & Kidney Transplant, with 15+ years of experience, our department covers the full spectrum of urological conditions including kidney stones, prostate disease, bladder cancer, urinary disorders, and end-stage kidney disease. We serve patients from across Rajasthan and neighbouring states.
Urology is the branch of medicine that diagnoses and treats conditions affecting the urinary tract, the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra, as well as the male reproductive system.
The urinary system is responsible for removing waste and excess fluid from the body. When any part of this system is affected, by stones, infection, blockage, cancer, or organ failure, it can significantly affect quality of life and, in serious cases, become life-threatening. Urological conditions range from common and easily treated, like urinary tract infections and kidney stones, to complex and critical, like bladder cancer, end-stage kidney disease, and rare tumours of the adrenal gland.
At Apex Hospitals, Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, our Urology Department provides the full range of urological care, from simple outpatient procedures and medical management to advanced robotic surgery, laparoscopic urology, and kidney transplantation. We also offer a dedicated dialysis unit and all treatment modalities for end-stage kidney disease, including CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis).
Urological conditions are often under-discussed, many patients live with symptoms for years before seeking help. Early diagnosis and treatment by an experienced urologist prevents conditions from progressing to more serious complications. For conditions like kidney cancer, bladder cancer, or prostate disease, timely specialist care directly affects long-term outcomes.
Men experiencing prostate symptoms, urinary difficulties, or male reproductive health concerns. Women with recurrent UTIs, incontinence, or bladder prolapse. Patients with kidney stones requiring treatment. Anyone with blood in the urine or a suspected urological cancer. Patients with chronic kidney disease approaching dialysis or transplant. Patients referred by a physician for any kidney, bladder, or urinary tract condition.

Consultation & Diagnosis
Dr. Saurabh Jain reviews your history, examines you, and advises the appropriate investigations. Depending on your condition, this may include urine tests, blood tests, ultrasound, CT urogram, cystoscopy, or biopsy. Most key diagnostics are available in-house for faster results.
Treatment Plan Discussion
Once the diagnosis is confirmed, Dr. Jain explains your condition and treatment options in plain language. This includes medical management, minimally invasive procedures, laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, or transplant, with a clear explanation of risks, benefits, and recovery for each option. Written care plan shared with patient and family.
Procedure or Surgery
Procedures range from outpatient endoscopic treatments (URS, TURP, cystoscopy) to advanced robotic surgery and kidney transplantation. All robotic procedures are performed using the Make-in-India SSI Mantra system with 10x 3D magnification. Kidney transplants are performed in a dedicated transplant OT with full immunological support.
Recovery & Follow-up
Most minimally invasive and robotic procedures allow discharge within 24–72 hours. Kidney transplant patients stay 7–14 days. Follow-up is structured, weekly initially, then monthly. Long-term management includes immunosuppression for transplant patients and surveillance for oncology cases. Teleconsultation available for patients from outside Jaipur.

Sunita R. — Pheochromocytoma & Concurrent Kidney Tumour
"For months, my blood pressure was dangerously high and no medicine was controlling it. I was told I had a large tumour in my adrenal gland and another one in my kidney. I was scared — the doctors in Jhunjhunu had told me the surgery was very risky. But Dr. Saurabh Jain and his team at Apex Hospitals took my case. They operated using robotic surgery and treated both tumours in a four-hour procedure. I am now stable and recovering well. I feel I have been given a second life."
Landmark Case — Pheochromocytoma with Kidney Tumour
Condition: A 50-year-old woman from Jhunjhunu presented with a rare and life-threatening pheochromocytoma — a 7 cm tumour in the right adrenal gland — along with a concurrent tumour involving the left kidney. The adrenal tumour had caused severe hormonal imbalance resulting in dangerously uncontrolled blood pressure that was not responding to medicines.
Treatment Given: Under the guidance of Dr. Saurabh Jain, the team performed a complex robotic surgery — the kidney tumour was removed robotically, and the adrenal gland tumour was simultaneously treated surgically. The entire procedure lasted approximately four hours.
Outcome: Both conditions were successfully resolved. The patient is now stable and recovering well. This case demonstrates what advanced robotic infrastructure and an experienced surgical team can achieve for patients with complex, high-risk presentations.

Apex Hospitals, Malviya Nagar is among the best urology hospitals in Jaipur, with 350+ kidney transplants, 5,000+ urological surgeries, and advanced robotic urology — led by Dr. Saurabh Jain with 15+ years of experience.
Treatment depends on the size and location of the stone. Small stones often pass on their own with fluids and medicines. Medium stones are treated with Ureteroscopy (URS) or shock wave lithotripsy. Large or complex stones are removed with PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy) — a keyhole procedure through the back. We recommend the least invasive effective option for each patient.
Yes. Apex Hospitals, Malviya Nagar offers robotic prostatectomy for prostate cancer using the SSI Mantra system — India's first Make-in-India surgical robot. Robotic prostatectomy offers superior nerve preservation, minimal blood loss, and faster recovery compared to open surgery.
Common symptoms include frequent urination (especially at night), difficulty starting urination, weak or interrupted urine flow, feeling of incomplete bladder emptying, and occasionally sudden urge to urinate. These symptoms worsen gradually over years and should not be dismissed as normal ageing.
Blood in urine (haematuria) — even a single episode — should always be evaluated by a urologist. It can be a sign of kidney stones, urinary tract infection, kidney or bladder cancer, or other conditions. Most causes are treatable, but early investigation is important.
Yes. Apex Hospitals, Malviya Nagar has performed 350+ successful kidney transplants. We offer living donor transplants, ABO-compatible and ABO-incompatible transplants, and complex high-immunological-risk cases.
CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) is a form of dialysis done at home by the patient — using the lining of the abdomen as a natural filter. It is an alternative to haemodialysis for eligible patients with end-stage kidney disease who prefer greater independence and flexibility. Our team guides each patient through the decision.
Pheochromocytoma is a rare tumour of the adrenal gland that causes excessive release of hormones — leading to severely uncontrolled blood pressure, headache, and sweating. It is potentially life-threatening if untreated. Surgical removal of the tumour is the standard treatment, performed laparoscopically or robotically at Apex Hospitals.
