Treatment: Under the guidance of Dr. Ishwar Meena, Consultant — Orthopaedics (Foot & Ankle and Sports Injury Specialist), the team chose a limb-salvage strategy instead of immediate amputation. This involved three staged surgeries to remove infected and dead tissue, continuous infection control, and intensive monitoring with targeted medical management over four months.
Outcome: The infection was successfully controlled and the wound healed completely. The patient regained mobility without permanent disability and today walks independently, having returned to a normal lifestyle.
Condition: A patient had suffered severe elbow pain for five years following a fracture that had healed incorrectly at a local facility, causing the elbow joint to deteriorate completely. All movement in the elbow was eventually lost, leaving the patient unable to carry out basic daily tasks with that hand.
Treatment: After thorough evaluation, the team determined that Total Elbow Replacement was the only viable solution.
