District's First Hair Transplant Performed at Sevika Hospital
Apex Ranthambore Sevika Hospital, located in Shila headquarters, recently achieved a milestone by performing the district's first hair transplant. Abhimanyu Singh, the hospital's superintendent, shared that on Thursday, the procedure was carried out on Vinod Mali, a patient from the village of Baharwada, who had been suffering from hereditary baldness for a considerable time.
Vinod Mali had been under the care of Dr. Vinod Sharma, the hospital’s senior dermatologist, and had been consulting with him about his condition for the past four months. Mali was satisfied with Dr. Sharma's treatment but still faced significant hair loss. Believing that a hair transplant would effectively address his baldness, Mali decided to proceed with the surgery.
On Thursday at 8 AM, Mali arrived at the hospital where Dr. Sharma and his team conducted the operation. The procedure involved extracting hair follicles from Mali’s body and transplanting approximately 4,500 follicles into his scalp for about six hours. Dr. Sharma advised Mali to avoid using water, oil, or shampoo on his scalp for seven days post-surgery and provided necessary medications. There were no dietary restrictions recommended.
Dr. Sharma explained that within 4 to 6 months, the transplanted hair would grow naturally, blending in as if it were a normal part of the patient’s hair. The process involves suturing the area where the transplant occurs, followed by a scientific method of hair implantation. Dr. Sharma assured that there are no side effects associated with this procedure, which is becoming increasingly common and widely used.
Abhimanyu Singh highlighted that this was the first hair transplant performed at Apex Ranthambore Sevika Hospital in Sawai Madhopur, marking a significant achievement for the facility. He also noted that Apex Hospital provides 24-hour care, including emergency services, CAMTEK, ICU, and PICU for children, and attracts numerous patients from the surrounding regions and nearby Madhya Pradesh.
