Apex Hospitals Bikaner Cardiac Surgery Team Achieves Another Milestone
Apex Hospitals Bikaner’s cardiac surgery team has achieved yet another significant milestone in the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) field. In this era of cutting-edge technology and innovation, the team successfully performed its first Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) using MICS thoracotomy without the need for a sternotomy.
The hospital has consistently performed valve replacements and cases of cyanotic congenital heart disease (CHD) without sternotomy, showcasing its expertise in the field. This achievement was made possible through the guidance of mentors like Dr. Anil Sharma and Dr. Sunil Dixit, along with the constant support of Dr. S.B. Jhawar, Dr. Sachin Jhawar, and Dr. Shilesh Jhawar from the Apex family, who continually inspire the team to adopt new techniques.
The surgery was performed on a 60-year-old female patient diagnosed with triple vessel disease and left the primary disease with normal systolic function. The procedure went smoothly, and the patient could walk happily on the first-day post-operation. Remarkably, only one unit of blood was required during the surgery.
