Four Years of Pain, One Surgery: Patient Gets a New Lease of Life at Apex Ranthambhore

Sawai Madhopur 4th April, 2026

Apex Ranthambhore Sevika Hospital has added another noteworthy achievement to its record of patient care. Unit Head Abhimanyu Singh shared the case of a 59-year-old woman from village Banetha, Tonk, who had been suffering from severe knee pain for the past four years.

Despite seeking treatment at multiple large hospitals, she found no lasting relief. She eventually came to Apex Ranthambhore Sevika Hospital, where she was examined by Senior Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Specialist Dr. Kanta Prasad. With the consent of her family, knee replacement surgery was performed.

Notably, the patient was made to stand and walk with the support of a walker the very next day after the operation, and was discharged on 1st April.

Dr. Kanta Prasad explained that wear and tear of joints, deficiency of calcium, and increasing age are common causes of knee pain and swelling. He added that while such surgeries were earlier available only in larger cities, this facility is now accessible right here in Sawai Madhopur.

Unit Head Abhimanyu Singh confirmed that the surgery was performed free of cost under the Rajasthan Government's RGHS scheme.
