Apex Ranthambore Sevika Hospital, Sawai Madhopur, has become the first hospital in the region to introduce orthopaedic robotic technology for knee replacement surgery. With this launch, patients will now have access to robotic-assisted Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and Partial Knee Replacement (PKR), bringing advanced joint replacement care closer to home.
The new facility was inaugurated by Sharda Pratap Singh, Chief Wildlife Warden, Ranthambore, marking a significant milestone in strengthening advanced orthopaedic care in the region.
Initially, the robotic system will be used for Total and Partial Knee Replacement surgeries, with plans to expand the use of robotic technology for other orthopaedic procedures in the future.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Himanshu Khinchi, Senior Consultant – Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement, Apex Hospitals, Jaipur, highlighted the benefits of robotic-assisted knee replacement. He explained that robotic technology enables highly precise bone preparation and implant positioning, helping surgeons achieve greater accuracy while preserving healthy bone and soft tissue. This results in improved joint function, reduced post-operative pain, faster recovery, and better long-term outcomes. He also clarified that the robotic system does not perform the surgery independently but assists the surgeon in executing the procedure with enhanced precision.
Dr. Kanta Prasad, Senior Consultant – Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement, Apex Ranthambore Sevika Hospital, said the hospital has successfully performed numerous knee and hip replacement surgeries. The addition of orthopaedic robotic technology will further enhance the quality of knee replacement procedures, offering patients a safer, more accurate, and personalized treatment experience.
The inauguration was attended by Abhimanyu Singh, Unit Head, Apex Ranthambore Sevika Hospital, along with hospital clinicians, leadership, and other dignitaries.
The launch of robotic-assisted Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and Partial Knee Replacement (PKR) at Apex Ranthambore Sevika Hospital marks a significant step towards transforming orthopaedic care in Rajasthan. The initiative reflects Apex Hospitals' vision of making advanced healthcare technologies accessible beyond metropolitan cities by bringing world-class orthopaedic robotic surgery to Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities at an affordable cost. By reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for specialized treatment, the hospital aims to ensure timely access to high-quality, technology-driven joint replacement care closer to home, while improving clinical outcomes and enhancing patients' quality of life.
