Apex PMG Hospital Performs 20 Knee Replacement Surgeries in Collaboration with Sushrut Charitable Trust
In a meaningful initiative to bring advanced orthopaedic care to those who need it most, Apex PMG Hospital, Sri Ganganagar, organized a Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery camp in March in collaboration with Sushrut Charitable Trust. A large number of patients were screened during the camp, from which 20 eligible patients were selected and underwent TKR surgery at a specially subsidized rate of Rs. 55,000, inclusive of implant costs and medication, with no additional charges for the patients. All 20 surgeries were completed successfully, and the patients are now recovering well and returning to normal life, free from the knee pain that had been limiting them.
The surgeries were performed by Dr. (Major) Pulkit Thatai, an experienced knee replacement surgeon, along with his dedicated surgical team. Dr. Thatai specializes in joint replacement and robotic orthopaedic surgery, and his expertise, supported by the hospital's modern surgical infrastructure, ensured that every patient received safe, effective, and high-quality care throughout the procedure and recovery process.
Sayyed Baleegh Ahmed, Unit Head of Apex PMG Hospital, expressed gratitude to Sushrut Charitable Trust for their continued support, calling the initiative a significant relief for patients who would otherwise struggle to access such specialized treatment. He added that the collaboration still has a target of 5 more TKR surgeries, and patients who register before the deadline will be considered for the next round. Apex PMG Hospital, Sri Ganganagar, is a 100+ bed facility with 34+ ICU beds, equipped with modern surgical infrastructure and a team of experienced specialists committed to delivering advanced, patient-centred care. Initiatives like this reflect the hospital's deeper commitment, ensuring that quality medical care is not a privilege, but accessible to all.
