Apex Hospitals Marks World Hand Hygiene Day with Week-Long Awareness Campaign and F&B Industry Panel Discussion
Apex Hospitals, Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, observed World Hand Hygiene Day with a week-long awareness campaign aimed at reinforcing the importance of hand hygiene in healthcare and beyond. Organized by the Infection Control Team in collaboration with the Nursing Department, the celebration brought together healthcare professionals, support staff, and industry representatives to promote best practices in infection prevention.
The week-long programme featured a series of academic and recreational activities, including an academic feast, cultural performances, interactive games, slogan writing, and poster-making competitions. Members of the Infection Control Team and other staff who have consistently contributed to maintaining high standards of infection prevention and patient safety were felicitated for their dedication and commitment.
The celebrations concluded with an expert talk and panel discussion that highlighted the significance of hand hygiene in the food and beverage (F&B) industry, emphasising that safe hygiene practices are essential not only in hospitals but also in sectors that directly impact public health.
The panel discussion featured Dr Sanjiv Hooja, Consultant in Paediatrics; Dr Ashok Kumar Dudhwal, Consultant in Gastroenterology; and Mr Ankit Kumar, Sous Chef at Hyatt Place Jaipur Malviya Nagar, as panellists. The session was moderated by Dr. Sonali Mittal, Consultant – Microbiology & Infection Control Officer (ICO), and was attended by representatives from leading hospitality establishments, including Jaipur Marriott Hotel, Hyatt Place Jaipur Malviya Nagar, Kanha, and Red Peppers.
Speaking on the occasion, the hospital management emphasized that hand hygiene is one of the most effective measures for preventing infections and safeguarding public health. By extending awareness initiatives beyond healthcare settings and engaging with the hospitality industry, Apex Hospitals continues to promote a culture of safety, prevention, and community well-being.
